Warranty and Lifetime Servicing
At Xronos Fine Jewellery, we take immense pride in our craftsmanship and the quality of our materials. As a family-run independent jeweller, our pieces are designed to become heirlooms - worn, loved, and passed down through generations.
To reflect our pride in our pieces, we offer a lifetime warranty and servicing for engagement rings, alongside a 12-month manufacturing warranty for all other fine jewellery pieces.
ENGAGEMENT RING LIFETIME WARRANTY
Our lifetime warranty applies exclusively to engagement rings and reflects the level of craftsmanship and long-term care these pieces require.
It is designed to cover genuine manufacturing faults under normal wear, ensuring the integrity of your ring for years to come.
Each claim is carefully assessed by our in-house jewellers. If a manufacturing fault is identified, Xronos Fine Jewellery will repair the damage without charge. If the fault is found to be from improper wear or outside the scope of our warranty (noticeably warped, bent, damaged or signs of improper wear and care), Xronos Fine Jewellery will repair the damage at a cost.
What is covered:
- Manufacturing defects.
- Structural issues arising from the design or craftsmanship of the ring.
- For designs featuring diamond-set claws, hidden halos, or hidden birthstones, we will always advise on the delicate nature of these styles and heightened risk of stone loss. Should a stone be lost from these specific features, we will replace this free of charge, for life (parcel stones/melee only).
What is not covered:
- General wear and tear, including scratches and surface marks.
- Damage resulting from improper wear, impact, or misuse (e.g. bent rings, warped settings, broken claws).
- Lost, chipped, or cracked centre stones or gemstones.
- Reshanking or significant structural rebuilds due to long-term wear.
Warranty conditions:
- The lifetime warranty is contingent on your ring being serviced and inspected by Xronos at recommended intervals (annually), through our lifetime servicing appointments. During this complimentary service, we check settings, tighten claws, and provide maintenance on your ring so it remains in good condition.
- Any repairs, resizing, or alterations carried out by an external jeweller will void the lifetime warranty.
- Failure to maintain the ring through regular servicing may result in damage that is not covered under warranty (for example, never having your claws re-tightened).
If damage falls outside of warranty, we will always offer a repair solution where possible, quoted on a case-by-case basis.
We recommend maintaining your ring through regular servicing to preserve its condition and prevent avoidable wear. For complete peace of mind, we also recommend independent jewellery insurance to cover events outside of our warranty, such as loss, theft, accidental damage, or focal stone loss/damage.
FINE JEWELLERY WARRANTY (12 MONTHS)
All fine jewellery stock pieces - including fine rings, wedding bands, necklaces, chains, bracelets, pendants, and earrings - are covered by a 12-month manufacturing warranty.
This covers genuine faults in materials or workmanship within the first 12 months of wear.
What is covered:
- Manufacturing faults and defects in craftsmanship or materials.
What is not covered:
- General wear and tear.
- Damage from improper use or handling.
- Broken chains, worn settings, or bent components due to wear.
- Lost or damaged stones after wear.
- Repairs or alterations carried out by external jewellers.
LIFETIME SERVICING & CARE
Our lifetime servicing is a genuine commitment to caring for your jewellery over time. We will always work with you to ensure your piece remains secure, wearable, and true to its original standard.
This includes:
- Complimentary inspections by our jewellers. We recommend annual inspections are scheduled for assessment and servicing of your engagement ring (claw tightening, assessment of setting and shank, inspection of melee diamonds and focal diamond).
- Professional cleaning and polishing.
Please note: servicing does not include reshanking or major structural work.
We recommend annual servicing to maintain the integrity of your jewellery and to identify wear early.
