Engagement spotlight: Justin

Justin reached out to us just before Christmas for a unique engagement ring to take away on a trip in early February. Armed with lots of inspiration and ideas, Justin was looking for a pear-shaped diamond solitaire and a textured band.
His inspiration featured organic looking engagement rings with a 'molten' gold feel apparent throughout his vision. We got to work narrowing down his inspiration for a piece that would feel organic and textured, but would remain timeless and sophisticated as an engagement ring.
When provided with a client's inspiration and brief, we unpack the design elements further so that we know we are providing exactly what you want and not just replicating an image inspiration. An organic band is a broad design element, there's so many subtle details that can transform the overall look and feel, from a brushed but clean finish, polished organic finish, molten look achieved through wax carving, or hammered finish, to name a few. We settled on a subtle round hammered finish, with a classic straight band, no curves.
We advised that polished claws would complement the diamond over textured claws, and this really helps make the diamond shine.
We sourced several diamond options, both lab-grown and natural, and a 0.70ct natural pear-shaped diamond, F, SI1 with ideal cut and excellent polish was the winner for Justin.
After the Christmas break, we got straight to work and handmade his engagement ring by January 1st 2024 (there's no down time when you love what you do!)
We were delighted to hear that Justin proposed early February, and of course, she said yes! We loved the unique inspiration for this engagement ring and it has even inspired us to think outside the box with incorporating organic texture into our engagement ring pieces.
